Moondog Pole is a sound art work by Alan Nakagawa celebrating the powerful brilliance of musician/composer/poet/luminary, Moondog.

Moondog Pole consists of a bass harp and modified sonotube. From the tube, a sound loop of Alan reciting couplets written by Moondog. The harp can be played by the public and is amplified, blending with the recited couplets. Moondog Pole is inspired by one of Moondog's musical inventions, the Oo.

Specifically created for the 2013 Soundwalk in Long Beach CA (October 3, 6pm to 10pm), the tenth and final Soundwalk, a sound art festival.
