Collage Ensemble Inc. was formed in 1984, in Los Angeles, during a time when artists of diverse media, of diverse social and ethnic roots, and with a hunger to collaborate was in the air (has anything changed?). Beyond the layers of brown smog and political mantra, artists felt that collectively they had something to say and a new way to frame the message. The message is our sum is greater than our parts. The message is our city is a new type of urban environment. The message is our past is our teacher. The message is with tolerance there is change. Collage Ensemble Inc. is only alive because over 200 artists have come to the circle at one time or more and shared, building an unique passage to the brillance of the neo-city.
