LA In Perpetuam

This video-sound work was inspired by the fact that LA's first industry in its route to becoming the mega-city it has begun was oil. Residue of this fact is still visable around the Baldwin Hill area where towering oil drilling machines crank out oil from the ground. Mona, who is Persian, finds personal irony that LA was once producing 25% of the worlds oil supply while her country of Iran produces much of it today.

LA in Perpetuam premiered at the 2008 Brod Contemporary Art Museum opening. Here Alan makes the soundtrack live while Mona's video is projected infront of the audience.
