A still from Mona Kasra and Alan Nakagawa's(or Collage Ensemble) collaboration

titled "LA in Perpetuam". A video poem about the founding industry of Los Angeles, oil.

Alan Nakagawa was asked by the Los Angeles County Museum of Ar (LACMA)t to create a three day sound project as part of the opening for the Brod Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM). Here Nakagawa is performing with internationally renown sound and visual artist Steve Roden. Go Steve!

One of the highlights of the three day performance were the soundscapes created by the legendary composer Joseph Hammer. Hammer utilizes one of the earliets Ampeg tape machines, analog effects and a Macintosh laptop to compose live a barrage of sound both rhythmic and hypnotic. Hammer has performed all over the world as a solo artist and in ensemble such as Solid Eye.

Steve Irvin and Alan Nakagawa premiered their sound and movement work, "Building Down", a construction of Hollywood Film soundbytes from such movies as "Carrie", "The Towering Inferno" and "Poltergeist". Sounds were manipulated and played against live electric bass and drums. Pictured here is the last third of the performance were Steve moves through the audience leaving stacks of discarded white t-shirts.

Found Sound also saw the reuniting of Alan Nakagawa and fellow Collage Ensemble Inc. founder, Kio Griffith in a acoustic and sample blend of ambient and experimental textures. Kio and Alan are pictured here playing their "Ha-Ko-Ne" instruments designed by Kio.
